Congratulations to CDS Family & Behavioral Health Services, Inc. on their ribbon cutting for the new youth shelter in northeast Gainesville yesterday morning!

CDS provides short-term shelter for youth ages 10-17 who need additional support due to various life circumstances. While in the shelter the youth receive counseling and mentorship to help them learn social and cognitive-behavioral skills to help them handle challenging environments and situations. Giving them the resources needed for long-term success.

CDS is a wonderful resource for the region and our future generations of citizens. The Concept Companies Construction Team was fortunate to be a part of their mission of supporting the youth of Gainesville by helping construct this new facility. We are proud of our team members who worked diligently on this project, Charlie Culp, Luke Smith, and Kelly Bush!

CBRE published their highly anticipated 2024 U.S. Life Sciences Talent Trends, featuring the Gainesville region and North Central Florida as an emerging ecosystem demonstrating significant growth in the Industry!

CBRE evaluates markets on the volume and density of talent along with ideal elements of an ecosystem that contribute to thriving life sciences clusters. It's no surprise to North Central Floridians that the Alachua/Gainesville region would make it on this list with the powerhouse research institute, The University of Florida, and thriving 800-acre life sciences cluster, Progress District right here in our backyard.

Not only is UF ranked in the Top 25 for producing top-tier graduates in biological and biomedical sciences and 13th for biological and biological specialty degrees, but they have also received over $283M in NIH Funding and conducted a record $1.25B in research overall.

The Progress District in Alachua, a short 15-minute drive from the UF main campus, is home to the award-winning UF Innovate Sid Martin Biotech Incubator and Fortune 500 life sciences companies. This thriving ecosystem includes a large portion of the biotech workforce and includes workforce development partners Biotility and the Santa Fe College Perry Center for Emerging Technologies.
