Join the Sustainable Ocean Alliance for our last general body meeting of the semester TONIGHT (11/20) at 6:30 pm in Little Hall 219.
We will have a guest speaker and vegan snacks for those who attend! All are welcome, and we encourage any who is interested in getting involved in the organization to come out.
We look forward to seeing everyone!

The goal is to have the city of Miami Beach pass and implement a single use plastic straw ordinance within all the city limits to compliment their City Property ordinance and beach side property ordinance. This will help keep single use plastic straws from entering our marine environment.

It's difficult to comprehend how much plastic is used only once. About 40 percent of the 448 million tons produced each year is intended to be disposable, according to National Geographic, and what doesn't get recycled or dumped in a landfill often ends up in the ocean.
