Happy Birthday to me
Today, I take a moment to pause… to breathe… and to look back at the journey.
I remember the young woman I once was—arriving in a new country, not speaking the language, carrying my dreams, my fears… and my child.
Nothing was easy. Everything felt uncertain.
But I made a decision.
I decided that my circumstances would not define me.
I sat in classrooms while pregnant, learning a new language.
I worked for free when no one would give me a chance—because I knew I was not working for money, I was investing in my future.
I remember earning $5 an hour just to cover babysitting…
And still choosing to keep going.
Because deep inside, I knew something:
If I kept showing up, something would change.
And it did.
Step by step…
I gained experience.
I grew.
I learned.
Until one day… I was no longer the woman waiting for opportunities.
I became the woman creating them.
But beyond the success, beyond the business, beyond the money…
What I am most proud of is this:
I never lost my heart.
I remember my mother telling me:
“If you feed someone else’s child, God will feed yours.”
Today, I live by that.
I give. I support. I show up for others—because I know I am only a steward of what I’ve been blessed with.
So today, on my birthday…
I celebrate the struggles that built me.
I celebrate the faith that carried me.
I celebrate the woman I have become.
And I remind myself:
This is only the beginning.
There is still more to build.
More lives to impact.
More legacy to create.
Happy Birthday to me. 💫
