🚩 𝐕𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐬 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰

Before you book your next getaway, here is something worth reading. A recent USA Today article shared a traveler's nightmare story — arriving at a rental that looked nothing like the photos. Rusty nails, duct tape on the stairs, and a "casita" that turned out to be a shed. The photos may have even been AI-generated.

Sadly, this is not as rare as you would think. A recent survey found that 52% of travelers have booked a rental that looked significantly different from its photos.

Here are the red flags to watch for:

🚩 Photos that look too perfect — AI-generated or heavily edited images that make a property look flawless

🚩 Reviews that sound too similar — or reviews that suddenly disappear

🚩 Pressure to pay off-platform — requests for Venmo, Zelle, or wire transfers remove your protections

🚩 Vague locations — "minutes from the beach" without specifics

🚩 No direct communication — hosts who avoid phone calls

How to protect yourself:
✅ Look for real, verified reviews
✅ Pay through the platform or a trusted management company
✅ Book with a local team you can actually reach

At SkyRun Galveston, we believe in total transparency. Real photos. Real reviews. Real people. When you book with us, what you see is exactly what you get. 🏖️
