My beautiful mother, Shirley Pritchett Sams. She flew as a stewardess for Pan American Airlines from 1944-47 . Shirley flew all over South America and Cuba. She had so many wonderful stories which led me to become a flight attendant with United from 1970-2006.

Happy Veterans Day to all the brave men and women who have served in our military! I come from a strong military background and am so proud of their contribution. In the upper left and right corner is my great grandfather Wadell Pritchett USN who served in World War I,bottom right is my father Capt William Ralph Sams USN who served in World War II and bottom left is my dear husband Capt Richard Barrett USMC who served in the Viet Nam War.Not pictured are both my brothers who served in the USN. So proud of one and all!
