Althea and Bodhi (7 soon to be 8)sitting in an alley in Montenegro (near Croatia). They are seasoned travelers as they pack their own suitcases and carry their own bags.As I stare at these beautiful grandchildren of mine I realize that my son and daughter in law happily proved me wrong. They said they would start traveling with those kids as soon as they were born and I rolled my eyes thinking “you have no idea”! Well those kids have seen more in 7 years than I saw in my first 25 years.They have come by it naturally. Their great great grandfather left his home in Tennessee at 21 to travel the world as a Captain in the Navy. His great great grandmother left her home in Charleston,SC at 17 to travel the world as an international stewardess with Pan American Airlines .Their grandfather left Ohio at 21 to travel the world as a USMC Captain.Then their grandmother left Washington DC at 20 to see the world with United Airlines. It is no surprise that their father then became an International Teacher taking the entire family all over the world. As you can see we all suffered from “Wanderlust “-it’s a strong desire to travel or explore the world. I can only imagine where the future generations will go.💕

My beautiful mother, Shirley Pritchett Sams. She flew as a stewardess for Pan American Airlines from 1944-47 . Shirley flew all over South America and Cuba. She had so many wonderful stories which led me to become a flight attendant with United from 1970-2006.
