VILLAGE ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE
Road construction is nearing completion for the season, and we sincerely thank residents and businesses for your continued patience. Below is a summary of the remaining tasks:
Main Street Sidewalk: Asphalt patching, turf restoration, and traffic control removal.
Wagon Trail Road: Fire hydrant adjustment, surface asphalt layer, and traffic control removal.
Catie Vista Subdivision: Surface asphalt layer, turf restoration, and traffic control removal.
Pleasant View Road: Center and edge line striping.
Rockfield Road: Shoulder restoration following recent storm impacts.
Germantown Community Library: Asphalt patching, turf restoration, and traffic control removal.
High Point Pass: Curb and gutter installation, asphalt paving, street lighting, and traffic control.
Maple Road: Work is complete.
All of this work is managed under a single low-bid public construction contract, as required by State statutes. Managing multiple locations under one contract allows for more efficient scheduling and typically reduces overall costs.
It’s common for contractors to send out crews specialized in one task (like asphalt paving) only when all project areas are ready. After that task is done, another specialized crew is scheduled once all sites are ready for their work—this helps maintain progress across the board without unnecessary delays or remobilizations.
The Village will continue to evaluate ways to improve project control and delivery timelines while keeping costs low. This has been a challenging and historic construction season due to the volume of work underway. We recognize the inconvenience and are committed to improving how future projects are delivered to minimize impacts to residents and businesses.
The end result will be significantly improved infrastructure for our community. Thank you again for your patience and support!
