Monica Newby is a dedicated real estate broker with Sievers Real Estate, serving clients in western Washington. A North Tacoma native, Monica brings a wealth of diverse experience to her real estate practice, having transitioned from a successful career in hospitality and financial services. Before venturing into real estate, Monica owned an award-winning full-service catering company, A Grand Affaire, operating venues in Seattle and Tacoma from 1998 to 2016. Her expertise in hospitality was further showcased during her tenure as the Director of Sales & Catering at Ocean5/Table 47 in Gig Harbor, where she excelled in management, event planning and client relations. Monica's career began in the financial sector, where she was a licensed Series 7 and Series 63 investment broker with Raymond James Financial. She earned her Financial Planning certification from the College For Financial Planning in 1994, an experience that laid a solid foundation for her understanding of financial and investment strategies. A passionate advocate for her clients, Monica’s goal in real estate is to provide expert guidance and support, ensuring her clients feel confident and informed throughout the buying and selling process. In her personal life, Monica and her husband, Robb, are avid car enthusiasts with a small custom car collection. She enjoys kayaking, hiking, and hosting happy hour on their porch overlooking their mini-ranch in Olalla. Monica & Robb have 3 adorable goats (Stella, Luna, and Totesma), 2 lovely hens (Rosie and Blanca), and 2 beautiful black cats (Sammy & Monkey.) Monica loves living in the Kitsap area, yet also has extensive experience in King and Pierce counties in order to work in a variety of areas.

What?!!!! Summer is officially over and I'm getting you the stats from August. The market seems to be SLOWLY shifting toward buyers as time on market and inventory is increasing and prices are remaining stable. Rising interest rates have been a hot topic of discussion as they also are increasing and putting pressure on buyer affordability. But if you can buy and want to buy, the market is shifting in your direction. Consider negotiating ways to make your loan more affordable with a interest rate buy down. And don't forget Down Payment Assistance. There are programs for almost everyone!
