Local First Arizona and State Forty Eight Foundation added a boost of adrenaline and a little bit of therapy to my September.

I attended a panel discussion featuring Arizona Attorney General, Kris Mayes, hosted by Local First Arizona. She shared information with us regarding a few successful antitrust lawsuits and more that are on the horizon. What truly fascinated me was watching her in action. At the end of her portion she asked if there were any questions. A gentleman asked her about a particular process that hurts local business owners which she was not aware of. AG Mayes began the process of putting together a committee of people to assist gathering details that will help her resolve this issue. Looking around the room, many of us were all smiles and shaking our heads positively looking at each other as if saying “Oh she’s got this!”.

State Forty Eight Foundation’s annual Entrepreneur Speaker Series continues to bring good humans together! Local entrepreneurs at every stage of their businesses share with us their successes and failures with the goal of helping us pave the way for our own success. Going into the second session I was feeling a little ungrounded. Six months into being a solopreneur full-time has already provided many lessons learned. However, being my own sounding board is limiting. Yes, I network and surround my self with like-minded people. Building a sustainable business from scratch requires more than that, though. This year’s series provided the exact guidance and lit a fire under me!

I love this quote because so many people get bogged down with “rules” of where to put things or how long should people keep clothes, etc.

People often ask me “what is the rule about….?”. I am honored to be a trusted resource of information and I enjoy seeing people’s faces light up when I reply that they make up their own rules.

What? You mean the professional organizer doesn’t tell me what the rules are?

Nope! I ask a lot of questions and we discuss different options and then You decide.

Your discipline, however, is what will keep you organized 😉

How does this quote relate to organizing? 🤔

Have you ever spent more time than you wanted to looking through a “junk drawer” for batteries or birthday candles or Chic-fil-A®️ sauce? 
So have millions of other people.

It’s easy to throw something in a junk drawer; so easy that things you will never use end up there. Which means you will have to spend time rummaging around many things when you are looking for just 1 thing.

Designating a specific space in that drawer for each item takes time at first but becomes easy when you are consistent.  When you need something, you go right to that specific space and Boom!  It’s there, you take it out and you use it. 
Every time.
Relax and Enjoy your chicken nuggies.

This is one of my favorite things to help people with.  My unusual relationship with space allows me to quickly create efficient spaces in a way that doesn’t come easy to other 💜

I debated with myself whether or not to post this emotional video. (The full version is on LinkedIn).

Talking about death is difficult for some and hearing about it is equally difficult for others.

We taped this video almost 3 months ago and, in that time, some of my core principles have been reinforced.

It is important for me to show up on the internet the exact way I show up in person. I look the same, I sound the same, I use the same words….

When people hire me they are inviting me into their personal spaces for many hours. We go through their most private belongings and I hear stories from very deep, emotional levels.

Every business decision I make is based on three equally important factors:
My clients’ needs
My goals
My capacity

My clients need to know who they are inviting into their spaces. When they read my newsletter they get to know me. When they watch a video online they get to know me. When they look at my website they get to know me. People who recommend me need to know, too.

There are no surprises as to what type of person is showing up to work. My quirky suggestions and playful observations are the only surprises during a Neet Freek experience. 💜

Preach Martha!

Martha Stewart’s prime years in our society covered my college years. I learned about her from my roommate’s mother and we used to laugh at how excessive she was.

Although I still consider her excessive for many people, her mindset and reasoning are completely on track with mine as a professional organizer.
