Next time you’re looking for a rental property, or a property that will become a rental in the future, here are five things to look for.
One, move in ready. Why? Because you’ve already put down a high down payment, so you don’t want more money out of pocket early in the investment.
Two, look for a corner lot. This makes it easier down the road to split the property into multiple units, each with its own private entrance.
Three, a detached garage. This opens up future A.D.U. potential.
Four, a great neighborhood. If the neighbors clearly take care of their homes and there aren’t a ton of cars parked on the street, those are good signs.
Five, four or more bedrooms. More bedrooms almost always means more rental income.
