How much do the women pay to be a part of our program and what’s included?! ❤️

$500 a month = $16 a day

-Payments can be split between two payments if desired - 1st and the 15th

-Includes a safe place to call home, support, accountability, resources, etc. *Also is approved by most probation/parole/courts- big plus!!*

-All utilities (includes central air!), free laundry, basic toiletries, WiFi with house laptop, furniture, bedding, smart TV with streaming services, and some basic necessities when needed.

-We also try to work out payment plans if women are accepted who don’t have any funds. We don’t want $$$ to be the reason someone doesn’t have a place to come home to, when they’re putting forth solid effort!!

Alison here 👋 As a landlord myself, I understand the risks involved to leasing units to someone with a criminal background and lower credit scores. I’ve been screwed over but also have had some of the best tenants with backgrounds. It’s just part of the business!

I also understand the difficulties of trying to find a decent, affordable safe place with not the best background as well. Watching others get denied again and again from agencies.

Just wanted to share this program calling Opening Doors that helps cover up to $2,000 to the landlord for qualifying damages! Think of it as an insurance policy and it’s easy to navigate!

Qualifying damages include:
• Actual repair costs including labor and materials to restore the unit to acceptable standards.
• Loss of rental income during the time required for repairs related to qualifying property
damage.
• Actual costs to dispose of abandoned belongings of the tenant following termination of lease.
• Unpaid rent if the tenant does not vacate in good standing.

How long do the women get to stay at The 209 House?

We encourage a minimum of a 3 month stay. We feel that amount of time is needed to rest, work on sobriety, create healthy habits/lifestyle, and to build a solid foundation to get back on your feet.

Women can possibly stay up to a year if they wish if they're following the rules and working towards their goals!

Hey all!

One of the biggest struggles for our women is finding permanent housing that accept criminal backgrounds after completing their stay at The 209 House! Can you help?! 😊

With that said, looking for private landlords and/or rental companies that are interested in partnering/connecting with us to help provide housing when it’s time for their next chapter.

209 applicants go through a series of questions, are given tasks to complete before arrival to demonstrate follow-through, and also have to provide a professional reference to be accepted into our home…along with other requirements.

Ladies accepted into our program are expected to follow a long list of rules and expectations while staying with us and would love to provide honest reference letters to women to give to future landlords..but need some more options for places that believe in second chances.
