For the first time since 2022 we will not be settling up in Grayville for Saturday's city wide yard sales. As you should know our business was started with high hopes while facing an uphill struggle given our location in a small town and lack of any reliable help.

I've made sales all along, but they're too few and far between to really matter now. We had planned to set up on weekends ( weather permitting) outside Farmhouse Florist in downtown Grayville, but the person I hired to basically run that operation became unavailable at the last minute. Then a plus for everyone is Farmhouse Florist which moved to Carmi has now reopened the Grayville store. We encourage you to visit their business for not only floral needs, but lots of great gift ideas.

I can and do offer a wide variety of entertainment books on movies and TV published through BearManor Media which is my publisher. Currently I am working on my third book for them and fourth book altogether.

While also rewriting and fine-tuning my first still unpublished novel which is deeply personal and will see the light of day.

I just got to let everyone know that I'm not sure what will take place next weekend. I'd like to proceed with plans to set up merchandise in town, but I haven't heard from the person who would have been helping me for a week.

Might be another of those "No Calls, No Shows".

I've tried to reach out to them in the past and more times than not all I get is lied to. So, I just rate them by whether they keep their word or not.

Maybe I'll know more before the week's end. Or if you see me set up to sale, you'll know it got worked out. For now. My best bet would be to sell out and devote my time to something less stressful and more predictable.

In addition to selling merchandise and movie memorabilia I will be purchasing things during two week periods each month once we get set up in town.

While we do offer a wide variety of things-- household items, etc. the idea is to get back to the original concept of Hollywood Enshrined .

That is books, DVDS, posters, clothing, artwork and more. If it's Hollywood, especially old Hollywood we'd like to take a look. Keep watching for important dates online and thanks for those who have already purchased.

I ran into Grayville Mayor Travis Thompson tonight and he has given me the go ahead to set some merchandise outside his former flower shop in Grayville. Great news!

As we don't start our season until April and with Easter coming in the first weekend in April, we will not be starting that week. Expect us the following weekend.

I will let everyone know the exact dates and times closer to start. I want to thank the mayor for this opportunity to expand our business. At this stage, I'm okay Win, Lose or Draw. But thanks to Travis and Ashley we have a chance to offer some more merchandise from Hollywood Enshrined.

Business has picked up some. I am starting to think the holiday shopping season is upon us. We have a large variety of books, used and new, DVD's, records, CD's, even VHS tapes!

Household goods. Kitchen utensils and cookware. Lots of holiday decorations priced right. Lamps, dishes, clothing, etc. I am telling you a lot of this is brand new and slightly used.

In anticipation of the onset of our new magazine Remembering the Wanderer, as of the end of this month, Hollywood Enshrined will cease operations as an on-site business.

This is regrettably so, but we've tried this for three years now since June of 2022. We have sales but it has not turned out to be anything like we envisioned. I knew the odds going into it were not in our favor. Everything comes in cycles. I hope this is not a sign of things to come and that one day, little neighborhood stores not only make a comeback, but flourish.

Customers had a great opportunity here as I was going out on a limb extending credit. I do believe if we had converted to mostly food and food items, we might have had a better turn-out. I tried connecting with area restaurants to do a delivery service, but I guess people would rather pay ridiculous Door Dash prices than the reasonable fees we would have provided.

We will still be offering mail order for mostly books, but we can get t-shirts, movie posters and art as well. Anything Hollywood related. And remember, I am still a working author and plan to be until I can no longer hold a pen and then I will use voice recognition or hire a typist.

I am excited to get back into the magazine business although being strictly online will be different. I'm an old newspaper and print magazine kind of person, but just like fighting City Hall, bucking trends really doesn't get us very far.

We'll see how it works out. I am forming a Facebook group called Remembering the Wanderer and they is where all magazine content will appear. It's free to join.
