A little history: 😍

In 1866 our little town was named Green Cove Springs after its previous name of "White Sulfur Springs" in 1854. Medicinal purposes of the spring paired with tropical weather made Green Cove a popular vacation destination. Because of its prominence it was nicknamed "The watering hole for the rich". The spring is 1 of 600 in Florida, originating from the "Floridan aquifer" with an estimated flow rate of 2,200 gallons per minute 😳 The spring water flows into the west side of the municipal swimming pool and then flows out the east side forming a stream eventually emptying into the St. Johns River. 💦 Heres a photo below of our gorgeous spring.
