Our inspector saw this—and missed the stream by about an inch! 😅

Water was flowing from open piping into the crawlspace. The piping should be properly connected and sealed to keep moisture from collecting where it doesn’t belong. This is why checking the areas beneath the home matters.

What looks like a small plumbing issue can create much bigger concerns over time.

"Wait... is that a car jack?" 🤔

That's exactly what our inspector thought while navigating this crawlspace.
Instead of finding only insulation and plumbing, he came across what appears to be an automotive scissor jack beneath a crawlspace beam—certainly not an everyday sight.

One of the biggest values of a home inspection is uncovering visible conditions and unusual modifications that buyers may never see during a typical walkthrough. Every finding becomes part of the bigger picture, helping you make a more informed decision before closing.

Sometimes the biggest surprises are hidden where most people never look.

Looks like this sump pump came with its own maintenance supervisor. 🐸💧

Our inspector, Ayoub, found this little frog hanging out in the sump pit, probably making sure the water level stayed under control!

Funny discoveries aside, sump pumps play an important role in helping manage groundwater and protect basements and crawlspaces from moisture. A home inspection can help identify visible concerns before they become unwelcome surprises.
