ā€œIs this real life?ā€ is a question Iā€™ve asked myself several times in 2026ā€”especially when I pulled up to Simply Natural Creamery earlier this year to film a commercial with them.

I was invited to be part of a Square commercial highlighting several local businesses in Pitt County, and getting to share my appreciation for a business Iā€™ve had a long-standing friendship with was a pinch me moment.

Small business spotlights have become such a meaningful part of my work and content, so getting a behind-the-scenes look at a commercial shoot and film production was especially cool.

I have a whole new appreciation for the creative process. Watching dozens of people meticulously work through lighting, sound, wardrobe, hair, script, producing, photography, and moreā€”take after takeā€”felt like getting a behind-the-scenes look at NASAā€™s launch room šŸ¤£

Iā€™ll never watch a commercial, show, or movie the same way again. The skill, concentration, tenacity, and vision that go into cinematic storytelling is WILD. It was a great reminder that when experts make something look effortless, there are countless hours of planning, creativity, and work happening behind the scenes.

And the sweetest part of the day? I made fast friends with Kim, the wardrobe artist, after telling her how much I loved scarves. She styled this one with my denim dress, and as I was leaving, a crew member came over and said, ā€œKim wanted to make sure you could take that scarf home.ā€ šŸ„¹šŸ’—

So grateful to Simply Natural Creamery and Square for inviting me to be part of this experience, and to the entire media team for being so kind and working tirelessly to bring it all together! šŸ¦šŸ¤šŸ¤˜šŸ¼

I remember over three years ago feeling so overwhelmed by the thought of a change in my career. I had been praying for the Lordā€™s will, and in 2023, launched into real estateā€”nervous but determined, with a peace that I was standing in Godā€™s will and would work as hard as I could to make this opportunity a success.

God has been overwhelmingly good to me, and after having the opportunity to serve hundreds of clients, I wanted to create a place of distinction where clients, family, and friends would be welcomed, represented, supported, educated, and, most importantly, valued.

Thatā€™s what HAUS OF SAM is (youā€™ll hear the reason we chose the name šŸ‘€)

Here, we bring together the services Iā€™ve built my business aroundā€”real estate representation along with property management, auctioneering, and fundraising consulting.

I half jokingly tell people it feels like year 4 has been our first ā€œnormalā€ year married. Losing a father and three grandparents, having both mothers battle cancer, and making a big career shift in the first three years of marriage was tough, but made our marriage stronger.
One thing Iā€™ve learned to be absolutely true: the biggest decision you can make in life is who you marry. My rock, supporter, counsel (even if I donā€™t always want to hear šŸ¤£), and best friend. Iā€™m always reminded of Godā€™s love and goodness when I see Daniel and his family. This year weā€™ve had the honor and blessing of purchasing our forever home, experiencing major success in our careers, and enjoying time with each other, our family, and friends. Iā€™m excited to see what this year holds. Happy Anniversary, sweetheart, I love you!
