A few months back, I got a call from Fred Hanish asking if I’d meet with a friend about selling their “Sanctuary” in Tiskilwa. From the first tour, I knew this place wasn’t just a farm,it was a legacy. For 33 years, this family poured in vision, sweat, passion, and an unwavering commitment to building one of the finest whitetail properties in the entire state. Every time I put boots on the ground, I fell a little more in love with what they had created. Together, we crafted a game plan, leaned into the marketing horsepower of Midwest Land Group, and before long this incredible farm was under contract. Today, one chapter officially closes for the sellers and a new chapter opens for the next owners — and I couldn’t be more excited to see where the future takes them.
To call this a bittersweet moment is an understatement. This farm represents decades of memories and a lifetime of work, and I’m deeply grateful the sellers trusted me to guide them through the process — quicker, smoother, and with fewer headaches than they expected. What began as a listing turned into a friendship, and helping transition this iconic property to its next steward has truly been one of the most meaningful experiences of my career.
