Lowcountry Home Care π‘ | Vol. 3
At first glance, cracked paint may not seem like a major concern. But in the Lowcountry, small signs often point to bigger moisture issues hiding beneath the surface.
Homes naturally settle for the first 2β3 years after being built, and during that time, some minor cracking can be completely normal. But this home is well beyond that stage.
When paint begins cracking, pulling away, or bubbling years later, it is often because moisture is getting underneath the surface. Paint cannot properly adhere to wet materials.
In this case, our audit revealed water intrusion near the staircase caused by issues connected to the homeβs metal roof.
Metal roofs are incredibly durable when installed and maintained properly. But when areas become damaged, warped, or improperly sealed, water can begin finding its way into vulnerable areas of the home over time.
And remember: water always follows the easiest path.
That is why regular home audits matter so much here in the Lowcountry, especially for homes exposed to constant humidity, storms, salt air, and seasonal weather shifts.
