LAST YEAR'S RENT IS NOT TODAY'S RENT 😩

I've been speaking with a lot of folks lately who are frustrated about their rent increasing and at the same time they aren't quite sure about buying a home. A few of the things that I hear most:

1. I can't afford to buy a house, with the mortgage, utilities, maintenance, etc. 💵💵💵

Truthfully there are people paying monthly mortgages that are less than your rent. Just ask your landlord. 🍵 And if you are paying rent, you are already paying for all of these things in one. There are so many financial benefits of owning your home, tax breaks, building equity, inflation protection (with fixed mortgage rates). You can literally increase your wealth by being a home owner.

2. My credit isn't where it needs to be. 💳💳💳

I know it's easy to believe that having a lower credit score counts you out the game but it doesn't. Credit is ONE of the several things evaluated when getting prequalified for a mortgage. Lenders also consider your debt to income ratio, your work history, & your down payment. You may be a lot stronger in the other areas. Never count yourself out before at least speaking to a few lenders. 🏦 Also, paying your mortgage on time every month is a great way to build your credit because it's reporting to the credit bureaus unlike your monthly rent payments.

All I'm saying is if you're thinking about buying a home, EXPLORE YOUR OPTIONS before telling yourself that you "can't". Most times the only thing standing on our way of having what we deserve is not going after it.

There are so many more reasons why you may feel that you "can't" purchase a home & really it could just be that you have questions that you needs answers to. Because of this I am currently doing complimentary buyer consultations & market evaluations for sellers. Contact me for more details. 🏡💚✨
