When a home gets an addition, the roof and attic have to become one system — not two. On this job, the builder missed that. The seam where the old attic met the new addition's attic was left uninsulated, and heat from inside the house poured straight through that gap all winter.

That escaping heat warmed the roof deck above it, melted snow, and sent water running down to the cold eaves — where it refroze and backed up under the shingles. Classic ice dam. By spring, the homeowner had real damage: a compromised roof deck right along that connection point.

Our fix: rebuild the damaged roof deck, then spray foam the entire seam between the old and new attic spaces so there's no path left for heat to sneak through. One continuous thermal boundary, no forgotten gaps.

This is why the connection points matter as much as the big open spaces. A perfectly insulated attic with one bad seam can still cause thousands in roof damage.

The builder forgot to insulate where the addition met the old attic. Heat poured through that gap all winter → melted snow on the roof → ice dam → roof damage. We rebuilt the deck and spray foamed the seam shut. No more gap, no more ice dam. 🔥❄️

Would you pay $40 for a coffee cup? 🤔 Watch what happens when we pour the same hot water into three different cups — this is EXACTLY what’s happening in your walls right now.

Cheap insulation = your heating dollars leaking out. Spray foam = locked in, working for you 24/7.

We don’t cut corners — we seal them. ✅
