Whenever I feel stuck, I come back to these three things: gratitude, clarity, and action. Gratitude shifts my energy. Clarity reminds me where I’m going. And action? That’s where the magic happens.

You ever have that moment where you know what you need to do, but fear tries to talk you out of it? That little voice saying, “What if it doesn’t work out?” Yeah, been there. But I’ve also learned that the only way to move forward is to take the step anyway.

Fear shows up when you’re stepping into something bigger. It’s almost like a test from the universe asking if you are you really ready. The crazy part? Once you move through it, you realize it wasn’t as scary as it seemed. Like doing your first open house or closing on your first home.

The #1 skill buyers and sellers expect from their is NEGOTIATING.

Unfortunately (as agents) we encounter a lot of agents don’t know how to negotiate effectively.

Negotiation is about creating a win-win for BOTH sides. Otherwise you risk strong arming the other side into submission, damaging relationships, and possibly losing a deal.

Not too long ago I dealt with a seriously jaded agent. He had over 20 years in the industry but let his past experiences cloud his judgement in the current deal we were working towards. Unfortunately my buyer had to walk away from the deal due to their relentlessness and lack of flexibility.

Sometimes the “perfect house” can come along for your buyer but if the agent on the other end doesn’t know how to negotiate then it can turn into a dead deal. Finding the perfect house not only is about the house itself but also the agent representing it.

Time spent in the industry doesn’t always equate to skill development. Just because an agent has been in the game for years doesn’t mean they’ve mastered the art of negotiation or other essential skills of the job. Experience is valuable, but it’s the ability to adapt, learn, and refine your technique that truly makes a skilled agent.
