I had this article hit my inbox. People think investors, landlords (investors by another word), and material/labor costs are the main driving factors of housing costs.

Then, the writer discounts the notion that investors are driving home price trends by only stating the previous year's purchase/sales history and a vague "economists say".

My vantage point is that large-scale investing operations (like Blackstone, etc.), if not a driver of price spikes, definitely exacerbate the problem, especially in high-growth metros offering the most potential profit.

Are 93% of us misinformed, as this article seems to portray?

Americans are nearly unanimous in agreeing that the cost of housing is too high, but divided on what they believe is causing the crisis.
