Originally hailing from Northern Virginia’s Horse Country, I grew up deeply immersed in all things equestrian, from competitive show jumping training and teaching riding classes. After graduating from Ohio University with a bachelor’s degree in English and sociology, I relocated back to the VA /DC area and began a position with a non­profit group, creating opportunities for adults with severe and profound disabilities. I spent 10 years as an independent living consultant/job developer and was an integral part of moving my clients from controlled, institutional living situations into a new world, which allowed for more “open doors, choices, and yes-I-can" attitudes. After visiting and falling madly in love with the mountainous region of western NC many years ago, I decided, in 2005, to call the beautifully funky city of Asheville my forever home. Since starting my career in real estate almost 20 years ago with The Cliffs Communities in South Carolina, I have been fortunate to work with many of the premier, master planned community developers here in Western North Carolina. My dedication to the entire relocation experience is readily apparent in my ability to actively listen to each client and creatively pair their needs and desires, ultimately resulting in perfect solutions. My goal as a real estate broker is to make every client feel like my only client. In my spare time, you’ll find me on my mat in the hot yoga studio, hanging with Brian and Birdie, my 2 rotten rescue pups, working with animal rescue organizations, or checking out the many fantastic live music venues in downtown Asheville! I have been a Licensed North Carolina Real Estate Broker since 2009 with a focus in the Master Planned Community, New Home, and Custom Build Market here in the Mountains of Western NC. Starting my real estate career with The Cliffs Communities in South Carolina, over the years I have had the great pleasure of working closely with some Western North Carolina's most premier lifestyle-based community developers. This experience in turn has allowed me to draw on my vast knowledge of community opportunities in the Carolina Mountains and "hold client's hands" through the entire buying or selling experience. As a skilled "active listener" I am able easily navigate what would be the "Google Rabbit Hole" and present viable options to clients based on their specific needs and preferences, preferred budget and timing to purchase. Understanding that scouting locales for retirement and / or buying a second home and narrowing down options can be time-consuming and certainly a process. You don't make a decision like that overnight. Realizing the significance of that process and the value of taking the necessary time for consideration, combined with great product knowledge and years of experience in that retirement relocation vein, is what makes me your Western NC Master Planned Community expert! Originally from Muscle Shoals, AL I grew up helping my father who is a licensed Home Inspector. My education of residential construction was not limited to floor plans as my father had me on rooftops and in crawlspaces. After college, I spent a year in Las Vegas and then off to Big Sky, MT . Was employed by the world's only private ski and golf community for a few years where I learned high end service and hospitality. This experience taught me that real estate was not only a difference in scenery but a lifestyle change. Thomas, US Virgin Islands I maintained a high-end service attitude with respect to privacy. I didn't know it at the time, but my experience in hospitality was sharpening my skills that I would later use in life. Now that I have navigated my way to Western North Carolina and have a family of my own, I am using the tools that were not only taught from my father but that I had learned working in luxury resorts. After working exclusively for the developer on Bearwallow Mountain as the on-site sales agent at Grand Highlands at Bearwallow Mountain, I was fortunate to help build the community from a few homes to a thriving, sold out development. Those formidable years, I learned to paint the vision of new construction and brokering transactions for Luxury homes as well as vacant land. Building communities and being apart of a growing mountain family are the reasons why I am so blessed to be a part of Beverly-Hanks, which represents the core values to make the Life that you choose become a reality.
