This morning Dustin and I were having our coffee watching the ducks come up to the yard like they do every day.
Usually they eat the bird seed that falls from our feeders… but today the feeders were empty.
They walked up, looked around, and started heading back to the lake.
We had a day-old biscuit sitting on the counter, so Dustin said, “Should I throw them the biscuit?”
I said, “Absolutely.”
He cracked the door and tossed it far enough to land in the water right in front of them.
The moment it hit the lake… the ducks flew away.
Dustin looked at me and said, “Isn’t that just like life?”
They were hungry.
They needed food.
And when the food landed right in front of them… they flew away from the very thing they needed.
Life — and couplepreneurship — can feel a lot like that.
Sometimes opportunity shows up right in front of you…
but it looks unfamiliar.
It feels uncomfortable.
It might even scare you a little.
So instead of swimming toward it…
most people fly away.
We see this in our business all the time.
Many homeowners feel overwhelmed by repairs, unexpected life changes, or difficult situations with their property.
Sometimes what they really need isn’t more stress — it’s simply a solution and someone willing to help.
That’s why we do what we do at D.L. Hoffman Homes.
Because sometimes the way forward is already there…
you just have to be brave enough to swim toward the biscuit. 🦆

Have you ever almost walked away from an opportunity because it felt scary at first?
