I've always looked at this smile and seen only the strength of a life that refuses to be defined by obstacles. When we took this picture today, I saw him there, on his knees, arms open to the world, curious and full of energy, in his favorite little green muslin pajamas with strawberries and doll designs. It's a moment of pure childlike joy, of innocence, of believing that anything is possible. But behind that radiant smile lies a long and complex journey that we are about to face together. That little 'cloud' he carries on his head, our little visible war scar, has been our silent but constant struggle.
And now, we've reached the most challenging moment in our story so far. Tomorrow is the day we so feared and, paradoxically, hoped would be the beginning of a new chapter. He will undergo a very high-risk surgery to treat this formation. The doctors were extremely frank with us about the complexity, the delicacy, and all the risks involved in the procedure. It's a huge battle, one of the hardest we could imagine for a little warrior like him.
My heart is a mix of overwhelming fear and unwavering faith. I'm sharing this photo and this story because, just as he has his arms open in the picture, I'm also opening my heart to you now. I'm asking, with all the humility and hope in the world, that you keep him in your prayers, in your most positive thoughts, and in all your healing energies. My arms are open to receive this love. Please wish me health. Wish me that the operation is an absolute success and that my little one can run, jump, and above all, smile like that again, without pain and without fear, illuminating our lives and the world. His strength and smile inspire me every day, and I know that, with the support and love of all of you, we can win this battle too. With faith and love. 🙏❤️
