Tradewinds Park—Please take your family, friends and neighbors out to the parks—->>Many of us have the pleasure of living in Florida. As residents and visitors we can all answer the call as our duty .
We enjoyed spotting many Florida native plants. There was a prolific Swamp Apple Blossom Tree, I was reminded of the first time I shared the precious wild fruit with some friends deep in the woods who were more familiar and they told me how the Seminole Florida Native People planted this “Swamp Apple “ all over the forests because it is a delicous treat and important food source.
We saw young Cypress trees, fields of Biden’s Alba, Wild Coffee, Coco Plum, and many Cabbage Palms (many more plants which are rarer and I will look up) of the almost 500 acres we were on the Butterfly Garden side and found that this was the side with most athletic fields.
Tradewinds Park ( Broward County website) “ This park, one of our largest, is located at Sample Road and Florida’s Turnpike (exit 69), and has horseback riding, an educational farm, model steam train rides, shelters, fishing, athletic fields, Equine Assisted Therapies of South Florida​, and world-famous Butterfly World​. Beware developers and there politician friends who will plow this unless we take time to protect it!!
Definitely visit this park!!
