Friends & Family,
I attended a meeting yesterday to say NO to the proposed Wind Turbine Project by APEX and even though I don't own any land in the direct area, (I live in Frisch Auf) it will still affect me, and don't think it won't affect you too. In more ways than you could possibly imagine.
As a realtor I wanted to know one thing, how would this affect Exemptions to ones property. Guess what, your property becomes a commercial property, and guess what, you pay commercial taxes. Your property is stripped of any Ag Exemptions, Wildlife, etc., (Exemptions in general) and when they are done with your property, you will have to reapply for an Exemption and wait the allotted time frame for said Exemption, and that's even if the land is worth exempting after they get through with it.
The meeting yesterday was so informative and there were approximately 400 people in attendance, all against this proposed Wind Turbine project. If anyone was there with a possible thought of leasing their property to APEX I hope they heard exactly what will happen to their property and will reconsider.
For those who could not make the meeting, educate yourselves, because if it doesn't pass in precinct four, they will move to other precincts, as they are pushing further into precinct three now.
A summation of this installation, it takes a minimum of 20,000 acres to install these turbines, they are working on 50,000 now. It takes 80 acres for one turbine to be erected. The normal height for a turbine is 175' to 300' and the proposed turbines for this project is 600' to 700', more than twice the height.
If you think seeing the Power Plant from miles around is a sight, just think of how far you will see these turbines. Multiple turbines, not just a few stacks.
These people have come into Fayette County and have insulted the intelligence of this community, did you know we are all dumb, not educated, and basically hicks. They have called on people from Houston who own property in the specified area and stated they were calling on them because they had intelligence. They got their answer, we bought property in the country to get out of Houston, why would you think we would want to look at Wind Turbines.
They are calling upon the elderly, and don't seem to take the word NO for an answer.
I'm writing this to ask all of my friends and family who reside in Fayette County to make an effort to join the several groups that will post on this project.
Fayette County Texas - Stop the Wind Turbines
Wm Bernsen Campaign, William Bernsen, he is heading up the Map of the area that is directly affected by the Wind Turbines.
TJ Mac - this is her personal FB page, so she may accept you or not, but remember, we are all fighting for the same thing, to keep Fayette County beautiful and to say NO to Wind Turbines.
And for all of my friends and family who are not in Fayette County, ask Wharton County how they snaked their way into their County and what it has done for their properties.
Just be aware of what is going on in your County so it doesn't happen to you.
This company isn't even in Texas, and the so called energy it will produce is not even going to stay locally.
Unlike the Power Plant, this project will not produce jobs for this community. Once this company finishes with their project, they sell to another company and then they sell to another company and the cycle begins.
Educate yourselves, and support the efforts of saying NO to Wind Turbines.
There is a petition online, and there is a donation site as well.
And one last note, if you can make it to the Commissioner's Court on Thursday, at 9:00 am, please do so. It is currently held in the Courthouse, but considering the supporters who turned out for this first of many meetings on this project, it will probably be moved to a larger location. Possibly the KC Hall.
Thank you for reading this long post, and say NO to Wind Turbines in Fayette County, and in Texas.
And to clarify, I have nothing against the Power Plant whatsoever. It was mentioned yesterday, but we all know that if not for the Power Plant, many would not have jobs in this County, and during the worse ice storm in Texas, we know who kept us running. I have personally worked out there, and enjoyed every minute of what I called, working in the coal mine. So understand, I'm for the Power Plant, I'm not for the so called green energy, and the Wind Turbines.
This is my personal opinion, on my personal FB page, so if anyone has anything to say, for or against, it is your right and personal freedom, but please be respectful.
