Crecí cruzando esta frontera durante muchos veranos y navidades. 🇲🇽🇺🇸

Pero esta vez fue diferente. Nunca había cruzado la frontera caminando. Y mucho mends sola.

Ese día sentí algo bien dificil de explicar.

Por un lado, sentí el privilegio enorme de ser ciudadana americana... de poder cruzar sabiendo que nadie me iba a quitar la oportunidad de regresar a casa.

Pero al mismo tempo pensé en toda la gente que ha cruzado por aquí cargando sueños, miedo y esperanza... y que nunca volvió a casa.

En las familias separadas.
En los que fueron deportados.
En los que viven con miedo de que una parada de tráfico, un día cualquiera o una puerta tocando pueda cambiarles la vida.

Y creo que ahí entendi todavía mas por qué
siento tanta pasión por ayudar a mi comunidad.

Especialmente a los que no tienen voz.
A los que no saben por dónde empezar.
A los que viven con miedo y sienten que nadie los representa.

Ser ciudadana americana es un privilegio que agradezco a Dios y a mis padres todos los días.

Pero para mí, también es una responsabilidad.

Y quizás por eso mi corazón sigue llevándome
hacia una misma misión: usar mi voz y mi profesión para ayudar a mi gente. 🇲🇽🇺🇸❤️‍🩹

Esto apenas comienza.
