In 1986 I lived in Manvel on acreage. We lived in a mobile home while we saved money to build a house on the land. I had just had my second child when the mobile home caught on fire and burned to the ground. Thankfully we had insurance, good credit and some savings to work with. We began the process of finding a builder, finalizing the builder contract, etc. When we spoke to the lender to get pre-
qualified, we realized that it didn’t make financial sense to build on the land. We were told that the appraisal would be difficult since there were so many mobile homes on land in the area and that factor would cause a low appraisal. We then decided to move to Pearland while the kids were little and settle in a neighborhood with sidewalks and close neighbors for them to socialize with. What a wonderful blessing that was. Pearland is a place I am proud to call home. It was wonderful to raise my two kids here. The search began looking for a real estate agent to work with and got a bad feeling from those that I met. I felt like they would have sold me anything just to get a sale. Have you ever felt that way? I talked it over with my husband and we decided that I should take some classes in real estate so that we were better informed in making a decision. Once I got into school, I realized how much I love real estate since it allowed me to serve people on a high level. I love helping others, educating and guiding them. Many often note I have a strong sense of social responsibility and doing the right thing. It occurred to me I have to serve more people, educate them, and guide them to avoid being in the wrong hands. It has always been my goal to really listen what the client envisions for themselves and to guide them towards it. My approach is, with the knowledge that I have, what would I do if I were in their shoes. This approach has served me well. For example, a client came to my agency and wanted a home in a certain area. They found one and I was very hesitant about them putting in an offer due to some issues I could possibly see coming up. After educating them, they insisted on moving ahead with an offer. The inspection came back and I was determined to communicate with them long enough to educate why it was critical they should not buy this home; it would have been a poor investment for them to do so. It came to a surprise of theirs because some real estate agents would have encouraged them to move along and close on the deal for a commission; even though it would have been a disaster for the client. My agency stands behind our motto “ In It For The People”. We work with high integrity. The client was delighted that we eliminated future headaches for them. Grateful to continually have clients come back to me years after the transaction is over to buy or sell their home. My clients refer me often and I have worked with their family members and friends. With over 27 years in the real estate industry, I continue to enjoy educating people. Some popular topics I teach on are
My philosophy is: We meet and develop a personal relationship. I educate and guide you towards a successful completion of your goals. In the end we part as friends. When we connect by telephone, email, or social media you can expect to be welcomed to our In It For The People experience. Are you ready to work with an agency who has your best interest at heart?
