A major hurdle for lots of buyers is saving for down payment. Did you know as a first time homebuyer you can put as little as 3.5% down? (Of course depending on DTI, credit, income, etc). I personally use & recommend High Yield Saving's account to start saving for your down payment + closing costs.

Have you seen 4-5% rates published recently and wonder how? Rate buydowns are most likely how. The 2-1 buydown option is great for buyers who want lower monthly payments for the first two years. The first year rate is 2% lower than base rate, second year is 1% lower, and third year goes to the base right. More than likely in a couple of years you are able to refinance and permanently get a lower rate. Great option for homebuyers!
