Did you know....

There is a 4 star French restaurant in Humble, TX? restaurant is tucked away in an unassuming older house in Old Humble. This hidden gem was ranked as one of the best restaurants in Houston by the Houston Travel Guide.

Not only was the food good, but recently we were there supporting a wonderful charity called Oaks of Righteousness.

Oaks of Righteousness is a non-profit, faith-based, residential facility that offers support for female ex-offenders, helping them become productive members of society again. host a fundraiser for Oaks of Righteousness every year, with that one event providing enough money to supply meals for the facility for an entire year. The Oaks of Righteousness facility is actually located two houses away from the restaurant.

If you’re looking for a restaurant with classic French cuisine, impeccable service and a heart for their community you should definitely give it a try.

Just say no to the constant hustle.

We took some much needed time to rest and relax with family and friends during the kid's spring break. On our way to our vacation rental we stopped by the in Waco,TX. We were in awe of the business they have built 😍.

Magic happens when your mind settles and relaxes. And that's when new ideas strike!

If you're interested in fine dining this is definitely a spot you need to try in Houston. This was our final stop of the day for Princess's birthday celebration.

Potente is located in downtown Houston across from minute maid park. There truffle pasta was featured as one of the best in the nation, so we had to try it. It definitely lived up to it's reputation. The food was so good we forgot to take a picture of our first course.

We had the opportunity to visit The Menil Collection while we were out for Princess's birthday. The Menil Collection is a free art museum in the Montrose area of Houston, Tx.

If you're looking for something free to do for the family or even for a date day this is definitely a great option.

Her favorite part was the different cultures that were represented at the museum and mine was the Bruce Davidson photography exhibit.

The Houston housing market continues to stay hot!

According to Redfin, in January 2022, Houston home prices were up 20.4% compared to last year, selling for a median price of $295K. Houses are continuing to move fast staying on the market for an average of only 26 days.

Even though inventory is still low there are were still more homes sold this year compared to this time last year.

There’s a cold front moving through Houston this weekend, so we thought we would share some things to do in Houston when it’s cold outside.

1.  Houston Museum of Natural Science
This is always one of our favorite places to visit and a perfect place to escape the cold for a couple of hours.

2.  Cidercade Houston
If you love retro video games this place is a must see.  They have a huge selection of video games, pinball, and other games.  My favorite was the Ninja Turtles game.  They also have a large selection of Hard Cider on tap.

3.  Finn Hall
The upscale food hall serves delicious cuisine from ten independently operated eating establishments including Greenway Coffee, Papalo Taqueria, Dish Society, Yong, Pizza Zquare, Pho Binh, Lit Chicken and Swallow's Nest Bar.  Finn Hall is located on the corner of Main and Rusk, in downtown Houston and is open for breakfast, lunch, happy hour and dinner.

4. Menil Collection
This free art gallery houses approximately 17000 paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photographs, and rare books. Masterpieces from antiquity, the Byzantine and medieval worlds, the tribal cultures of Africa, Oceania, the American Pacific Northwest, and the twentieth century are particularly well represented.  Did we mention that it's FREE!

When we moved into our house, we were always confused about the strange addition that was in our master closet. After seeing a similar home we found it it was actually a hall closet that was closed off to the living room and added to the master closet. A larger master closet is usually a positive but for us we really needed a hall closet for additional storage with better access.

So guess what we did!

Bought a door, opened the wall and reinstalled the door. Everything was already framed out for a door so that made it pretty simple. We also closed off the entry to the master closet, so the kids can't sneak into out room. Sometimes you have make a house work for you. For us, a hall closet was what we needed.
