With dangerously hot temperatures continuing across Southeast Texas, the City of Conroe is opening Cooling Centers to provide residents with a safe, air-conditioned place to cool down.

📍 Oscar Johnson Jr. Enrichment & Recreation Center
710 Foster Drive

Whether you're looking to cool off for a few hours, stay hydrated, or escape the afternoon heat, these facilities are available during normal operating hours.

Please take a moment to check on family, friends, neighbors, and others who may be more vulnerable to extreme heat. If you know of anyone who may be in need of somewhere to cool down, please pass this along.

The Greater Houston housing market showed signs of strength and balance in June, with home sales increasing, pending activity climbing and overall price growth remaining steady.

According to the Houston Association of Realtors’ June 2026 Housing Market Update, single-family home sales rose 3.5% year over year, with 8,820 homes sold compared to 8,525 in June 2025. Pending sales—newly signed purchase contracts that become closings in the next few months—increased 12.3%, suggesting continued buyer interest as the summer market moves forward.
