Emotional intelligence is a skill needed, not only for your personal relationships, but for your business ones. Tenant tear up s**t when you p**s them off and/or they feel disrespected.
Clear communication and expectations typically help you avoid this. People respect when you treat them like human beings and hold yourself to the same standard you do them. You want them to pay on time and take care of your stuff? Well, provide a level of service.
Of course Iâve had tenants try to jump fly but you as the grown up in the room have to understand who youâre talking to and act accordingly. You know that saying about arguing with fools⊠Exactly⊠Donât. Also if someone does jump fly let them know⊠âHey. I talk to you respectfully and I expect the same from you.â Most sane people understand that.
