Get an inspection BEFORE the insulation and drywall is installed on a new home if possible. You can avoid a lot of issues later and it costs the builders a whole lot less to fix at the pre-drywall stage. This pony wall was loose and needed to be stabilized.

Don't do this! The septic system wasn't working well and backed up when they washed clothes, so the sellers installed a drain line from the clothes washer directly to the outside ground. It also created a problem dumping so much water at the foundation.
