Before & After | Guest Bathroom ✨
Taking you inside my Tampa home! This guest bathroom had a bit of a... Star Wars theme (at least that's what it felt like 😂), and it was definitely ready for a refresh. My budget for this makeover was just $5K.
One of my favorite decisions was keeping the original black-and-white checkered flooring. It's timeless, and with the right finishes, it became one of the best features in the room.
Instead of demolishing the existing tile, we installed beadboard paneling, painted it black, and glued it directly over the tile. Yes—you read that right! No demolition, no dust, and no mess.
Next, we replaced the vanity with a warm wood vanity topped with marble and finished it with brass hardware and a brass faucet for a modern organic feel. We removed the outdated shower doors, resurfaced the tub, and installed a new shower faucet and shower head. A simple shower curtain instantly made the room feel larger and more inviting.
To finish the space, we added new lighting, floating shelves, a custom mirror full of character, and peel-and-stick wallpaper. (Confession... I don't recommend peel-and-stick wallpaper! 😂 The corners started peeling, so I ended up using wallpaper adhesive to keep it in place.)
This transformation proves you don't always need a huge budget—or major demolition—to completely change the look of a space. Sometimes it's all about making smart design decisions.
