Oh how the birthday celebrations have changed over the last 13 years….

We went from over the top Pinterest 1st birthday parties to a can of cinnamon rolls for breakfast and pretty Walmart cake.

We celebrated my girl with pedicures, dinner at The Lodge and a quick drive over to Fall Creek Falls. Then back to the RV park for a fancy Walmart cake and presents.

The way she smiled so big, hugged me and thanked me at the end of it all was a good reminder that these kids don’t need fancy and over the top, they just want quality time with us.

This girl wants a $30k p**p pump so her RV park can have all full hookup sites! 🙌🏼

Contractor work is getting checked off the list!

✅Almost all sites now have sewer hooks up.

✅ Bathhouse and laundry room should be done this week! (Still need stall doors installed, concrete stain finished in women’s and entry, shower heads and toilets in women’s, sinks and faucets, and finalize stain on exterior)

✅ RV site electric panels complete and ready for inspection and service.

✅ So much clean up of brush, branches and dead trees. Still so much more to do!

To be done this week:
-Finish bathhouse and start on store
-Test and Repair water lines
-Finish repair of power for bunkhouses, bathhouse and laundry room.
-BTS: branding finalize, website work, finalize booking site, inventory for store, meet Internet company for coverage across the whole park and so much more!

Here’s our story:

We owned a house in OC that we rented out as a mid-term rental through an insurance company while we rented a house in San Diego. Our mortgage was paid for by someone else and we made $1,000 on top of that. 

Then we sold that house to buy a primary residence for us. Took half of the equity to buy our house and the other half to buy a house to flip in TX. 

Then sold the flip in TX (made no money, lost $4k) but got most of our money back and purchased a short term rental in ID. That STR wasn’t even close to a cash cow but the equity skyrocketed. 

Last year we sold that STR and took the proceeds to purchase an RV Park. Hence, the abandoned RV Park you’re going to hear a lot of about of here!

Side note: We purchased another STR last year that was not purchased through other real estate investments. I’ll share about that one another time.
