Hurricane Elena swept through the Gulf and forever changed Indian Rocks Beach when it destroyed the beloved Big Indian Rocks Fishing Pier.

For decades, the pier was more than wood and pilings — it was a community gathering place, a spot for fishing, sunsets, first dates, and family memories.

Though the storm took the pier, it could never wash away the spirit of IRB. Today, we remember not just what was lost, but how our beach community has always risen stronger together.
