Before I became a Real Estate Agent I worked for my cousin at her Historic Preservation business (Owen's Historic Preservation). We got to work on structures that held historic relevance throughout PA. One of the last projects I worked on was this farm house. When Washington and Lafayette led the Battle of Brandywine in Chadds Ford, PA in 1777, they commandeered two farm houses as headquarters. This is the home that Washington used. Pretty cool to stand in the exact spot that our future first President stood! We restored the shutters and I stripped and repainted all of the trim on the house. Though, but rewarding work!
Calling all PA communities! 🏛️ The Pennsylvania Trails of History is offering $2 million in grants ($5,000-$100,000) to strengthen local revitalization and preserve historic and archaeological resources tied to our Commonwealth’s legacy. Eligible applicants include local governments, historic preservation organizations, and historical societies — all aiming to celebrate and protect our shared past.
