I recently found myself learning the difference between an MRI and an MRI with contrast… and let’s just say I was not prepared for the extra steps involved. When my daughter had an MRI last year, it was a 20 minute ordeal. So when one of my boys needed an MRI with contrast, I went in thinking it would be a similar experience. It wasn’t. In this video, I’m sharing my experience as a parent, what caught me off guard, and a few things I wish I had known beforehand. Some mornings, I still find myself asking, “Why?” Why did my boys have to be diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy? Why did my daughter have to watch her childhood change overnight at just nine years old? Why did our family have to walk this road? The truth is, I don’t have those answers. What I do know is that every one of my children has developed a level of strength, resilience, compassion, and perspective that many people spend a lifetime trying to learn. I would take this burden from them in a heartbeat if I could. But on the days when it all feels unfair, I remind myself that maybe this struggle isn’t meaningless. Maybe it’s shaping them for something bigger than I can see right now. Maybe it’s preparing them for a purpose I may never fully understand. That doesn’t make the hard days easy. It doesn’t erase the grief. But it does help me carry it. And if there’s one thing my kids have taught me, it’s that resilience isn’t about avoiding hardship—it’s about finding the courage to keep moving forward anyway. We roll with it 👨‍🦼‍➡️🧑‍🦼‍➡️🚐 Rider style. ❤️

Just pressed record for my local video when I heard it… 🚒 Fire engine 🚨 Fire truck right behind it 🚑 Ambulance 🚓 And finally a police officer to round it all out The one time I forget my lapel mic. 🤦‍♀️ The joys of recording videos on Main Street in a small town. 😂 Thankfully nobody was hurt, but my first take definitely was.

Remember that video I posted a while back where I asked if you had a weird trigger of a seemingly harmless object and for me it was FedEx envelopes? Well…this is the other side of that story. ❤️ Every time a FedEx envelope shows up, it heals my heart a little bit more. What once represented another deployment order for my husband now represents a commission check earned from helping a family purchase a home where memories, milestones, and everyday moments will unfold. And honestly, that’s the real reward. 🥹 The commission check is just the icing on the cake. Compared to other parts of Amador County, the Ione real estate market is still moving relatively quickly right now. Some homes are still selling at or above list price, and days on market are much lower than what we’re seeing county-wide overall. That’s exactly why hyper-local market data matters. Because what’s happening across Amador County doesn’t always reflect what’s happening in a specific town, neighborhood, or price point. These market stats are based on March 2026 numbers.
