🌱🐾 Your yard has a fall landscaping crew you definitely didn’t hire.

While you’re cleaning up leaves and getting the yard ready for fall, moles may be busy doing a little landscaping of their own... underground. 😂

Keep an eye out for:

🟤 Raised tunnels running across the lawn
🟤 Fresh mounds of soil
🟤 Soft or uneven areas underfoot
🟤 New lawn damage that seems to appear overnight

Moles spend most of their time underground, so you may never actually see one—but you can definitely see the evidence they leave behind.

Cute little face? Sure.

🦇 It's Bat Week—and honestly, bats deserve better PR.

They're associated with haunted houses, vampires and Halloween...

But bats play an important role in our environment, including consuming insects. Bat Week runs October 24–31, making this the perfect time to appreciate them from an appropriate distance.

If bats find their way into a structure, wildlife issues should be handled carefully and humanely.

Great outside. Not so great as roommates.

Warm Georgia days can still bring plenty of wasp and yellowjacket activity.

And here's an important reminder:

If you're seeing frequent activity around one particular spot, don't assume spraying the insects you can see solves everything.

🔍 Screens that don't fit tightly

Your gutters.

Leaves + debris + moisture = a pretty inviting setup for insects.

Fall is the perfect time to:

✔️ Clear leaves from gutters
✔️ Check that downspouts are flowing
✔️ Direct water away from the foundation
✔️ Look for standing water
✔️ Check nearby rooflines for activity

Your gutters have an important job.

Running a bug bed-and-breakfast isn't one of them. 😂

🪳 The weather is cooling down... and somebody is looking for indoor accommodations.

Smokybrown roaches love moisture and sheltered environments, and around Georgia homes they may be found near gutters, rooflines, landscaping and other damp areas.

Translation:

That clogged gutter isn't just annoying.

It could be creating exactly the kind of environment pests appreciate.

Keep gutters clean, manage moisture around your home, and if the roaches decide to come inside anyway...

And once they're inside?

You bought pumpkins.

The Joro spider handled the cobwebs. 😂
