Rates ticked up again this week, landing above where they were this time last year for the first time in nearly a year. That doesn't mean pump the brakes. It means get ahead of it. The average 30-year mortgage rate rose to 6.69%, its highest level in just over a year, further limiting buyers’ purchasing power. The 15-year rate slipped to 6.01%.
