Let’s find this baby a foster home!

💜FOSTER NEEDED💛

Meet Alma, a sweet, bellyrub loving girl who’s having a tough time with shelter stress.

She’s so gentle and affectionate, but the kennel environment is overwhelming her, and she’s starting to rub her head and paws on her kennel walls, enough to cause small wounds. A quiet home would help her heal and decompress so much faster.

We’re urgently looking for a foster, even a weekend or a few days would make a huge difference. Longer stays are wonderful too of course!

We are not totally sure how she is with other pets. Many of our dogs come in with very little history, but if you have animals at home, we can arrange a meet‑and‑greet to see if it’s a good fit.

It really is incredible how a single event can hold two completely opposite emotions at the exact same time.
Reading the comments of people who survived decades later brings back all the terror of that day, but seeing how people rebuilt, how communities bonded, and how survivors look back with gratitude—that’s where the beauty is. It really shows the strength of human resilience.
It’s a beautiful way to put it: honoring the memory of those who were lost, while deeply appreciating the miracles and the people who are still here.
