Story time!
A few weeks ago, Drew showed up for an inspection… and GPS sent him to the wrong house.
The wild part? There were two homes for sale directly across the street from each other. Same area, similar timing, and somehow Drew ended up at the other listing.
That has never happened before.
By the time everyone realized it, Drew was already about three-quarters of the way through the inspection.
So, in true Kick A-Z fashion, we immediately called everyone involved - ALL four agents, both buyers, the sellers, and made sure everyone knew exactly what happened.
The buyers of the “wrong” house asked Drew to go ahead and finish the inspection. And we rescheduled the original inspection we had for the next day. (Thanks to that client for her grace and flexibility.)
And it’s a good thing they did.
Using his thermal imager, Drew found an anomaly at the ceiling. The buyers asked the sellers to investigate. Two plumbers came out and couldn’t confirm a leak.
The buyer called us for guidance and asked if Drew should come back out to test it again. We explained that even if Drew saw the same thing again, the recommendation would still be further evaluation by a qualified contractor because inspections are visual and non-invasive.
It took a couple weeks, but the sellers finally opened it up…
And it was wet behind the ceiling.
Sometimes the weirdest mix-ups turn into the exact thing someone needed.
Thermal imaging matters. Thorough inspections matter. And clear guidance after the inspection matters, too.
