The focus since our founding has been on projects that offer quality diverse housing in Kansas City’s urban core. In order to do that effectively we have steered our focus to rehabilitation projects and on the restoration of abandoned and dilapidated homes and multiunit buildings in the City. These projects require us to work closely with neighborhood associations in various neighborhoods in order

to gain support and championship for our projects. We view ourselves as long-term investors who buy and hold and look after the property well beyond the rehab date. Over the past year, Legacy has developed an ambitious initiative to diversify housing options and increase the availability of quality affordable housing units in Kansas City. We have also gone a step further to develop opportunities for the City’s residents to create a foundation and leave a legacy of generational wealth through homeownership. Our forward-thinking model calls for a symbiotic approach between residents and incremental real estate developers that sees developers create much-needed housing spaces for the City’s affordable population; an occurrence that would in turn spur additional demand, fueling the development of additional properties. Beyond business, Legacy's partners have academic, professional, philanthropic, and entrepreneurial roots in Kansas City.

Over the past 2 months, Legacy Asset Group competed in AltCap's 2021 Business Pitch Competition, introducing a solution to (a) equip families with the tools, education, and relationships to establish a foundation as homeowners, and (b) equip investors with the tools and resources to successfully develop incremental real estate projects that will add to the KC’s affordable housing supply. A novel model that brings a business approach to a societal challenge.

We entered this Entrepreneurship Week among the 10 finalists out of 43 original contestants, and Wednesday evening, closed the deal in the top 3 of all businesses during a live pitch event. We plan on using this prize and recognition to bring more awareness to our program at our Legacy Center -currently under construction in the heart of KC- and help launch a new generation of homeowners and real estate developers to address the City's housing challenges.
