Heads up if you have unoccupied property here in the Outer Banks. There was an incident in the Nags Head area early this evening involving an individual that is "squatting" overnight under vacant homes. Another example of the challenges of people becoming homeless in times like these. I understand there have been incidents in the Kitty Hawk/Southern Shores area as well. If you have a property here or know of someone that does, make sure someone is checking to make sure it is secure regularly. If I can help in any way please let me know! A simple trip to a client's home to check on completed maintenance work today resulted in discovering that someone has been enjoying their hot tub.
