I was personally asked to help get the word out and bring some bodies out to support Honor Flight Mission 19, and this is one ask I am incredibly proud to make.

On Friday morning, these Veterans will leave our community for a trip created to honor them, their service, and their sacrifices. And when they come home Sunday, I want them to see exactly what kind of community they came home to. ❤️🤍💙

Bring your family. Bring your kids. Bring your American flags. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸 National POW/MIA Recognition Day 🇺🇸

Today we pause to honor the American service members who were held as prisoners of war and those who remain missing in action.

We remember the unimaginable sacrifices endured by our former POWs, and we honor the courage and strength that carried them through captivity. We also remember the thousands of service members who never returned home—and the families who have lived with unanswered questions, sometimes for generations.

The POW/MIA flag carries a simple but powerful promise:

You Are Not Forgotten.

At Homes for Heroes® Tennessee and Virginia, we stand with our veterans, military families, and the families of our missing. We honor those who returned, remember those who did not, and continue to hope for answers for those who remain unaccounted for.

Today we celebrate the men and women of the United States Air Force and the proud legacy of service that began on September 18, 1947.

For nearly eight decades, Airmen have defended our skies, supported missions around the world, advanced aviation and technology, and stood ready to protect our nation whenever called upon. Their commitment extends far beyond the aircraft we see in the sky—it takes thousands of dedicated men and women serving in countless roles to keep the mission moving.

At Homes for Heroes® Tennessee and Virginia, we are proud to recognize all those who currently serve and those who have proudly worn the Air Force uniform before them. We also recognize the military families who serve right alongside them through deployments, moves, long separations, and everything military life brings. 💙

🇺🇸 September 11, 2001 — 25 Years Later 🇺🇸

Twenty-five years ago, our nation experienced a day that changed us forever.

Today, we remember the 2,977 lives lost on September 11, 2001. We remember the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, military members, dispatchers, and ordinary citizens who ran toward danger to help complete strangers. We remember those who went to work that morning and never came home. And we remember the families who have carried that loss every day since.

We also remember what happened in the days that followed—when Americans came together. We stood beside our neighbors, supported our first responders, flew our flags, and reminded one another that even in our darkest moments, we were still one nation.

A quarter of a century has now passed. For an entire generation, 9/11 is history rather than a memory. That makes our responsibility to remember—and to tell the stories of those we lost—even more important.

At Homes for Heroes® Tennessee and Virginia, we honor the lives taken, the heroes who answered the call, the survivors, and all those whose lives were forever changed that day and in the years that followed.

25 years later, we still remember. We still honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

JamFest is coming up, and we’re proud to join the Women Veterans of East Tennessee for a day built around music, community, and honoring those who’ve served.

The Warrior’s Canvas will have our booth set up along with facepainting, and the VA is bringing food trucks, live music, and several nonprofits who support our veteran community.

If you’re a veteran, a family member, or a supporter who believes in strengthening veteran spaces, this is the perfect chance to connect, enjoy the day, and meet the organizations working hard for our region.

Shawna and Dawn Dilworth have another hero under contract!

🚔🏡 BACK UNDER CONTRACT! 🎉🔑

My law enforcement hero’s first home in Bristol didn’t work out after the inspection, but sometimes walking away is the right move. Now he’s officially UNDER CONTRACT on a new home in Lebanon, VA! 🏠🙌

We’re seeing more buyers willing to back out during the inspection period when the condition of a home raises too many concerns. Buyers simply aren’t as willing to take chances on a property when the inspection uncovers issues they’re not comfortable taking on—and I don’t blame them. A home is a huge investment, and sometimes the best decision is knowing when to move on.

Thankfully, it didn’t take long for this first-time buyer to find another one! ❤️💙

Today we celebrate the hardworking men and women who keep our communities moving every single day. From first responders, healthcare workers, teachers, and military members to construction crews, small business owners, tradespeople, office workers, and everyone in between—your hard work matters. 💙

Labor Day is also a good reminder that even the hardest workers deserve a day to slow down, fire up the grill, spend some time with family and friends, and enjoy a well-earned break! 🌭☀️
