Today we celebrate Flag Day 🇺🇸

On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States. For nearly 250 years, the American flag has stood as a symbol of freedom, unity, courage, and the sacrifices made by those who have served our nation.

It has flown over battlefields, schools, homes, and communities across the country—representing the ideals and opportunities that make America unique.

Today we celebrate the 250th Birthday of the United States Army 🇺🇸🎉

For 250 years, the United States Army has stood as a symbol of strength, service, and sacrifice. Since its founding on June 14, 1775, generations of soldiers have answered the call to defend our nation, protect our freedoms, and serve with honor both at home and around the world.

From the Revolutionary War to present-day missions, Army soldiers have demonstrated extraordinary courage, resilience, and commitment in the face of every challenge. Their legacy is woven into the history of our country and the freedoms we enjoy today.

At Homes for Heroes® Tennessee and Virginia, we are proud to support active-duty soldiers, veterans, National Guard members, Reservists, and military families. Serving those who serve our nation is one of the greatest privileges we have. 💙🏡

Today we celebrate Women Veterans Recognition Day 🇺🇸💜

Women have served our nation with courage, dedication, and honor throughout our history, often overcoming challenges while paving the way for future generations of service members. From the battlefield to support roles, from wartime service to peacetime readiness, women veterans have made immeasurable contributions to our military and our country.

Women Veterans Recognition Day commemorates the signing of the Women's Armed Services Integration Act on June 12, 1948, which allowed women to serve as permanent members of the U.S. Armed Forces.

At Homes for Heroes® Tennessee and Virginia, we are proud to recognize and support the women who have answered the call to serve. Your sacrifice, leadership, and commitment have strengthened our military and inspired countless others.

Today we commemorate D-Day 🇺🇸

On June 6, 1944, more than 156,000 Allied troops landed on the beaches of Normandy in one of the most significant military operations in history. Their courage, determination, and sacrifice helped turn the tide of World War II and paved the way for the liberation of Europe.

Many of those young men stepped onto those beaches knowing the dangers they faced, yet they pressed forward in defense of freedom and in service to something greater than themselves. Their bravery continues to inspire generations more than 80 years later.

At Homes for Heroes® Tennessee and Virginia, we pause today to remember the heroes of D-Day and honor all who served during World War II. Their legacy reminds us that freedom is never free.

Join the Friends of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit Bark & Blue 5K, 1K, and Dog Jog and help support the incredible K9 teams that work tirelessly to keep our communities safe. 🐕💙

Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or just looking for a fun event to enjoy with your four-legged friend, this is a great opportunity to come together for an important cause.

The K9 units of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office play a vital role in law enforcement, and events like this help provide support for these amazing teams and the work they do every day.
