We are open from 11AM to 3PM today (Friday), we are working only emergency heat and shutting off water at frozen pipe calls that we can get to. Main roads are drivable but a lot of the smaller roads are not and it's impossible to get to many properties. From what we understand South Knoxville roads are very bad. We have had crews out all day and night yesterday plowing as many properties as they could get to. Unfortunately, many properties are inaccessible due to the roads. There will be no more plowing work done until next week and that will be on an as needed basis. Stores are limiting the purchase of salt and we have used up most of what we had stocked up. If we can safely get to properties, we will shovel snow off exterior stairways and upper walkways as needed and salt as needed. Please let us know of any areas that really need it and if we can we will come out. The office is open for calls during these hours. Please try to stay home if possible and warm. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this extreme (for Knoxville) winter weather. Remember, if you have an emergency heat setting on your thermostat, switch in to that for additional heat during these extremely low freezing temperatures. Remember - It is freezing outside, you must keep your heat on in all rooms, all interior water faucets dripping and your sink cabinets open to prevent frozen pipes. Once a water pipe freezes it can take days to thaw out and there is nothing we can do until it does. We will be closed over the weekend. If an emergency occurs, please call the emergency line at 865-686-5312. You will get a call back, but most likely we will advise you that it will need to wait until Monday, unless we feel it is something we can safely come out for over the weekend and it's an emergency we believe we can resolve. DO NOT text or submit online work orders for emergencies. You MUST CALL the emergency line. When the office is closed there is no one that will read your texts or online work orders.
