One of the best home-buying tips I know actually came from my mom. ❤️

And she wasn't talking about real estate.

Years ago, my youngest sister and I had a double wedding. 👰‍♀️👰‍♀️ While we were planning, my mom taught us something incredibly simple:

Pick your 3.

Know the THREE things that matter most to you.

Not the 10 things you'd love to have.
Not everything on the wish list.

Your three.

I've carried that advice straight into real estate.

When you're buying a home with someone, before you start touring, each of you should write down the three things that matter most to you in your next home.

Then compare.

Because house hunting can change your thinking FAST. 😂

Suddenly you're standing in a gorgeous kitchen, staring at an incredible backyard or discovering a feature you didn't even know you wanted 10 minutes ago.

That's when you go back to your three:

Does this home give BOTH of us what matters most?

I was reminded of this again while touring homes with two different couples whose priorities were very different from one another.

The goal isn't to find a house with everything.

It's to recognize the home that gives you the things that matter most.

So thanks, Mom. ❤️
