* FACT: Strictly illegal without a permit! Cutting, removing, or destroying vegetation on TVA-managed shoreline buffer zones requires approval.
* MYTH 02: "I bought the house, so the existing dock permit transfers automatically to me."
* FACT: TVA permits do not transfer automatically. New homeowners must formally apply for a permit transfer for existing docks and structures.
* MYTH 03: "If the dock is 'Grandfathered,' I can do whatever I want with it."
* FACT: "Grandfathered" status only applies to the unaltered structure. Any expansion, modification, or major rebuild triggers current TVA regulations and requires a new Section 26a permit.
* MYTH 04: "I can add a roof or an enclosed living space to the second story of my dock."
* FACT: TVA restricts second-story dock levels to open decks with safety railings only. Enclosed spaces or upper roofs are strictly prohibited.
* MYTH 05: "My property deed goes right down to the water's edge, so I own it."
* FACT: Even if your deed extends to the water, TVA flowage easements mean you MUST have an approved Section 26a permit for any shoreline construction or modification.

Alyssa has recently shifted course and is now moving farther offshore from Tennessee waters. 🎸🌊

Previously, she had been tracking northeast, appearing to follow a path along the Tennessee River corridor. Over the past week, however, she has pinged several more times while gradually shifting eastward toward the Smoky Mountain region.

Meanwhile, Kara has not appeared on radar since her last ping on April 3rd, when she was continuing north along her established route toward the Nashville–Knoxville corridor.

These movements are a clear reminder of just how unpredictable shark migration patterns can be… especially in a state that is very much not connected to the ocean. 😭

From Memphis to Nashville… from Chattanooga to Knoxville… Tennessee residents continue monitoring the situation with the exact amount of concern that a shark traveling through Tennessee deserves.

The current theory?

Nobody has one.

And honestly, that makes this even funnier. 😂
