Every year, someone announces that agents are finally finished.

The headline writes itself. New app. New algorithm. New "disruption." Same prediction.

Here's the actual scoreboard after a decade of trying:

One company burned nearly a billion dollars attempting to buy and flip homes using its own valuation tool, then quietly shut the program down.

Another slashed its workforce twice in under two years trying to make a discount model pencil out.

A third promised sellers they could skip the agent entirely and walk away with more money. The average seller who took that deal left $82,000 on the table.

Meanwhile, 97% of buyers still hire an agent.

The threat to this profession was never technology.

It was never apps, algorithms, or influencers filming walkthroughs in their first year.

The only thing that has ever actually taken business from a good agent is a better agent.

Show up more. Follow up longer. Know your market deeper.

That's the entire competitive moat.

I posted on my stories that we had to renew our mortgage today & so many American followers were CONFUSED 🤣 I forgot y’all don’t have to renew your mortgages… I explained the situation that Americans can just sign on for 30+ year mortgages with a fixed rate and he said “explains their economy” ☠️ but yeah… in Canada we have to renew or re-qualify for our mortgages every 3-5 years with a new rate 😬 it’s stressful but good for consolidation tbh.
