Please share this with those you know and love. A simple check by a home inspector, gas company, or firefighter with a gas meter could have saved their lives. Anytime you are working with gas appliances, please have a professional check for leak. This is what separates Inspectormedics Home Inspections from the others. We truly have the safety of your family as our #1 priority.

The family who was found dead due to carbon monoxide poisoning had recently installed a water heater that was leaking gas at high levels, police said.

A fellow home inspector had recently inspected this home outside of Chicago. He noted several concerns, along with the critical need for a chimney sweep. The owners used the fireplace before having it cleaned. Without a home inspection, the buyers could have started a fire in the fireplace on their first night in their new home. Please include a home inspection with a new purchase. Locally, InspectorMedics can check your home's vitals (865) 226-9271

Libertyville firefighters were dispatched for a reported fire at 232 Red Top Drive Sunday afternoon (3/31/19). Are you selling your home?
Are you buying a home?

Here are some advantages of having your home-for-sale inspected before you list it:

You can choose an InterNACHI Certified Professional Inspector® to inspect your home first, which may prompt the buyer to waive his own inspection contingency. And even if he doesn't, a Seller Inspection means you won't be in for any surprises.

You can schedule your inspection at your own convenience, rather than accommodate a buyer and his inspector.

You can assist your inspector during the inspection, which is something not normally done during a buyer's inspection.

A Move-In Certified® Seller Inspection may alert you to any immediate concerns, such a broken pressure-relief valve or an active termite infestation.

The Seller Inspection:

allows you to take the time to shop for competitively priced contractors to make repairs, rather than making rushed decisions to get things fixed in a hurry; lets you attach repair estimates or paid invoices to the inspection report; and removes over-inflated buyer-procured repair estimates from the negotiating table. Move-In Certified® yard signs, free from your InterNACHI inspector, will attract potential buyers touring homes in your neighborhood. A Move-In Certified® Seller Inspection is the ultimate gesture in forthrightness on your part.

Buying a home can be a stressful process, but your home inspection doesn’t have to be. Your inspection and report, combined with the seller’s disclosure and what you notice yourself, can make the experience overwhelming. Chances are that most of your inspection will be related to maintenance recommendations and minor imperfections. These are good to know about. The issues that really matter will fall into four categories:
a. major defects, such as a structural failure;
b. conditions that can lead to major defects, such as a roof leak;
c. issues that may hinder your ability to fnance, legally occupy, or insure the home if not rectifed immediately; and
d. safety hazards, such as an exposed, live buss bar at the electrical panel.
