Meet Your Neighbor Monday ⛳️

One of my favorite things about this series is learning the stories behind local businesses.

This week I sat down with Justin from , one of La Quinta’s newest golf destinations. He and his wife created a luxury indoor golf space built for year-round play, practice, and hanging out with friends.

With technology and rates starting at just $25 an hour, it’s a pretty cool addition to our community.

Thanks for having me, Justin. After a couple of years spent recovering from surgeries, I’m finally healthy enough to get back to some of the things I’ve missed. I have a feeling you’ll be seeing me at again soon.

Thoughtful Thursday from VillageFest in Palm Springs

It’s June. It’s warm. And yet the vendors are here, the visitors are here, and the community keeps showing up.

The power of being nice is a big deal. I really appreciate working across from agents in a real estate transaction who are solid communicators and cooperative for a common goal. If you’re selling your home, it’s imperative that your listing agent be a representation / extension of you. Negotiations can be tough but when two professionals come together for the best interest of their clients, magic can happen!

The median price of a detached home in the Coachella Valley ended May at $675,000, which is a change of -3.6% from last year. The median price of attached homes ended the month at $490,000, which is a change of 2.1%. The three month average of sales in May was 756 units compared to 745 units a year ago. The 12-month average, which takes out seasonality, was 622 units a month. Average monthly dollar sales in May were $708 million, compared to $698 million last year. At the end of May, total Valley inventory was 3,358 units, which is a change from last year of -8.0%. The Valley’s “months of sales” ratio was 5.4 months, which is -0.6 months different from last year. The a regional months of sales ratio under 6.0 months indicates the housing market is balanced or neutral. At the end of the month, the median number of “days in the market” in the Coachella Valley was 49 days, which is 0 day more than last year. Currently, detached homes are selling at an average premium/discount of -2.9% compared to -2.6% a year ago. Attached homes are selling at -3.3%. The percent of homes selling over list price was 9.6%. This compares to 10.6% last year.

She’s been in Old Town La Quinta for 12 years and doing nails for more than 30. We sat down to talk about Old Town Nails, the people she’s met over the years, and what keeps her family business going strong.

One of the things I love about Old Town La Quinta is that you never know who you’ll run into. I stopped by for an interview and ended up catching up with friends too.
